U.S. Rep. John E. Fogarty gave this photo to former Pawtucket Police Chief Edward F. Parker, whose son, R.I. Traffic Tribunal Judge Edward C. Parker, gave a copy to The Providence Journal's Ed Fitzpatrick, the political columnist.

Fitzpatrick termed it "a Rhode Island Mount Rushmore."

The photo shows, from left to right, Governor John A. Notte Jr., President John F. Kennedy, Sen. John O. Pastore, Rep. Fernand St. Germain, Rep. John E. Fogarty and Sen. Claiborne Pell.

The photo was taken aboard the USS Joseph P. Kennedy (named after the President's brother, a Naval aviator who died in the line of duty) to watch the America's Cup off Newport on Sept. 15, 1963.
