Downtown Providence skating rink opens Wednesday

PROVIDENCE - Get out your Quilted Northern or other padding ready, because ice skating season for the Providence Rink at the Bank of America City Center begins Wednesday.

The 4 p.m. start is weather permitting. If it rains, opening day will instead be 4 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Regular hours of operation during the week are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it's 11 a.m. to until 10 p.m. The rink is open on all winter holidays.

General admission is $7 for adults and $4 for seniors, children 12 and under and military. Skate rentals are $5. Skate sharpening is $7, and only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Season passes can be bought for $150 an adult, $250 for a family of four and $90 for children and seniors.
