PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police on Friday night were investigating a serious crash between a car and a motorcycle on the Route 95 Service Road and Westminster Street that left the cyclist severely injured.
Providence police Lt. Oscar Perez said the operator of the crumpled-up green motorcycle was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he was brought to the trauma center shortly after 8 p.m. The driver of the car, which had Massachusetts plates, appeared to be unhurt.
The police blocked off the intersection on the western side of the highway forcing other motorists to take detours.
