CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. -- A Cross Street man was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree robbery after police identified him on surveillance cameras at Bank of America as the man handing the teller a note saying he was armed and demanding all the money in the drawer.
The robbery took place just after the bank opened, police Maj. James J. Mendonca said in a news release.
Detectives obtained warrants and arrested Leonard Hazard, 32, after a brief foot chase from his residence at 28 Cross St., just 4 minutes on foot from the bank.
Hazard was to be presented as a bail violator, Mendonca said. The investigation continues.
