A father and son in Johnston were arrested Friday after police delivered a package containing eight pounds of high-grade marijuana to their home, and also found a marijuana-growing and distribution operation inside.

A California police department had intercepted the package and contacted the Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.

Police went to the address, 1164 Plainfield St., where Aaron Lashus, 21, signed for the parcel and was arrested.

Inside, police found 100 marijuana plants, numerous drying racks and packaged marijuana, one ounce of hallucinogenic psilocybin mushrooms, six firearms and $7,965 in cash.

David Lashus, 49, arrived and was arrested. Police said that the father was running operation; he was ordered held without bail. The son was released pending future court appearance.
