CRANSTON, R.I. -- Sessions are planned in Portsmouth on Thursday and Exeter on Friday to allow officials from public agencies, nonprofit groups, towns and fire districts learn how to apply for superstorm-Sandy-related assistance or reimbursement.
Both sessions are from 9:45 a.m. to noon. On Thursday, the briefing will be at Portsmouth Town Hall, and on Friday at the National Domestic Preparedness Coalition headquarters.
"Any agency considering applying for public assistance must attend one of these briefings," said Theresa C. Murray, executive director of the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency.
"We want people to know what storm-related expenses may be eligible for reimbursement, what documentation is required, and what policies must be followed," she said.
Deadline for submitting a request is Dec. 3. View the application.
