PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Newsweek college rankings are out and, as usual, they are about as scientific as most people's college experience.
Some of the rankings don't entirely make sense. Brown University is listed as the fourth happiest college but the sixth most stressful. Stress was measured by the cost of tuition, the percentage of students on financial aid, selectivity and the on-and off-campus crime rate.
Providence College is listed as the 19th most conservative college. Salve Regina University is listed as the 23rd least affordable.
These colleges may not have the highest sticker price, according to Newsweek, but when you factor in potential earnings as well as the average debt of graduates, these are the schools where students are at least able to shoulder the cost of their degree.
