PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Lawyers involved in Rhode Island's lawsuit against the people who crafted the $75-million loan guarantee for now-failed videogame company 38 Studios agreed Friday morning to postpone the start of formal hearings until Jan. 25, 2013.

The state filed a sweeping lawsuit this month against company founder Curt Schilling and advisers for the state who crafted the deal that brought 38 Studios to Rhode Island, alleging fraud, negligence and legal malpractice.
