PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Abruptly ending their trial, Cranston philanthropist Joseph A. Caramadre and a past employee pleaded guilty Monday to wire and mail fraud, identity theft and conspiracy in a multi-pronged scheme in which they defrauded terminally ill people and insurance companies.
Under the plea agreement, Caramadre and the former employee, Raymour Radhakrishnan, each face up to 10 years in prison in addition to supervised release at their sentencing, which U.S. District Judge William E. Smith set for Feb. 8.
