WESTERLY, R.I. -- Volunteers and cash donations are needed to help clean a roughly half-a-mile section along Winnepaug Pond, where hazardous materials were discovered among other storm debris.
Serve Rhode Island, which Wednesday renewed its call for help in post-storm cleanup efforts, said the debris was uncovered along the marsh in a hard to reach area so much of the debris will have to be removed by hand, including 120-gallon propane tanks, jugs of cooking oil, electronics, and pressure treated timber and other construction material.
Skilled and equipped demolition workers are needed.
