PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- ‎Governor Chafee is heading to France this weekend for a Monday meeting with senior executives from Dassault Systèmes, a software company with about 350 workers in Rhode Island.

Chafee spokeswoman Christine Hunsinger confirmed late Wednesday that Chafee will travel to Paris, France, on Saturday and return Tuesday night. She said no other stops were anticipated.

"The governor is constantly working to strengthen the state's relationships with its premier employers," Hunsinger said. "This is just another example of that."

Dassault's corporate headquarters is in the Paris suburb of Vélizy-Villacoublay, southwest of the city. One of its units, Simulia, is based on Providence.

The company creates 3-D design software used in a wide range of industries, including aerospace, defense, architecture, engineering, construction, retail, energy, finance, life sciences, and transportation.
