CRANSTON, R.I. -- A man with a history of domestic violence against one woman is now accused of sexual assaulting and beating another.
Johan Machuca, 27, of 56 Waterman Ave., is being held without bail on charges of first-degree sexual assault, felony domestic assault, and failure to relinquish a phone.
Machuca is accused of forcing himself on a woman he knows at his apartment Monday, then assaulting and threatening to kill her if she called police, according to a police report.
Cranston police arrested Machuca, who was arraigned Tuesday at District Court.
Machuca was arrested in Providence in 2007 and in Pawtucket in 2008 on charges of assaulting his then-girlfriend. He pleaded no contest and was released on probation. He pleaded guilty to violating a no-contact order in 2008.
