PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The National Weather Service at 4:57 p.m. issued a flash-flood warning for Providence, Washington, and Kent Counties.
Roads can be inundated with several inches of water in a short period of time, the Weather Service's Taunton, Mass., office said. Those living in areas prone to flooding should seek higher ground.
The warning will be in effect until 9 p.m.
