WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- Police acting on a Silver Alert to search for a 61-year-old man Tuesday found his body in the Blackstone River at River Island Park, a police spokeswoman said.
Det. Jamie L. Paone said the body of Andre Genereaux was found at about 3 p.m. He had been reported missing since 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
"We're going to do a full investigation," Paone said. "We're not treating it like a crime."
She said the man had survived a stroke that left him unable to speak. He walked with a cane.
He was in the habit of taking a morning walk, Paone said. The park is near his house on Wilson Avenue.
