PROVIDENCE -- Calling it a "senseless" crime, a District Court judge ordered a 17-year-old boy to remain held without bail in last summer's murder of a young couple and their friend in Providence.
Russell Burrell was 16 when he and his girlfriend's half-brother Quandell Husband, also 16, went to an apartment on General Street to commit a robbery, according to the Providence police.
Instead, the police say that the boys murdered Shemeeka Barros, 22, her boyfriend Michael Martin, 23, and their friend Damien Colon, 22 -- leaving alive only Barros' two small daughters and her dog.
Both Burrell and Husband are facing murder charges as adults.
