WEST GREENWICH, R.I. -- The state police identified the passenger who died Saturday morning in a two-car crash on Route 3 as 77-year-old Dorothy Corp, of Coventry.
Corp, of 1445 Hill Farm Rd., was a backseat passenger in a GMC sport-utility vehicle that burst into flames after colliding with Nissan Murano around 11:15 a.m., Sgt. Stephen Flood said.
The driver, Corp's husband, Bruce Corp, 79, and their son, also Bruce, 53, escaped with non-lifethreatening injuries, Flood said. Good samaritans were unable to open the door to free Dorothy Corp, Flood said.
The Murano was driven by Dina Damico, 42, who was driving her mother Kathleen Damico, to visit relatives in Massachusetts, Flood said. The Damicos, of Pennsylvania, were treated for non-lifethreatening injuries.
Flood said the accident remains under investigation.
