WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- A power outage that initially affected 2,900 customers has almost been fully restored, according to National Grid.
The outage occurred at 2:30 p.m. when someone on Rhodes Avenue, not a utility employee, cut down a tree that landed on power lines, a spokeswoman said.
By 3:20 p.m., only 49 customers were still without power.
