PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- If you're driving north on Route 95 after 7 p.m. Wednesday, you might want to take Route 295 to avoid overnight lane closures, officials at the Rhode Island Department of Transportation advised in a news release Tuesday.
Lanes will start closing between Exit 14 (Route 37) and Exit 15 (Route 10) starting with the high-speed lane at 7 p.m. By about 10 p.m., three lanes will be closed at the same time, and delays can be expected.
The two middle lanes between Cranston's Auburn Street and Park Avenue need work, and a break in the weather allows it to be done before the holiday.
All lanes will reopen for the Thursday morning commute, the DOT news release said.
