PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The wrong people were stirring in an empty apartment just minutes after Christmas ended.

Officers called about suspicious people at 10 Harvard St. saw men running toward Taylor Street. Left behind were two flat screen TVs and a folding knife.

Patrolman Christopher Ziroli tackled Eugene J. Grundy, 21, who told him he wasn't in the house with the other guys, said Cmdr. Thomas F. Oates III.

Patrolman Matthew McGloin caught Shaquille Cooper, 19, who tried to walk casually by him -- then insisted he didn't have anything on him, according to a report.

Grundy had three women's watches, two sets of keys, and crack cocaine, and Oates said that Cooper's red sweatpants matched those of a fleeing suspect.

Both were charged with breaking and entering.
