All of Rhode Island is included in a winter storm watch issued by the National Weather Service from Saturday morning through Sunday morning, an email from the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency said Friday evening.
An expected 4 to 8 inches of snow is predicted to begin falling mid- to late-morning Saturday, with the heaviest snowfall in the late afternoon and early evening. The quick-moving storm is expected to taper off between 4 and 8 a.m. Sunday.
Driving may be difficult at times.
Preparedness reminders include adding winter blankets and clothes to emergency kits; having a way to heat one room without power or furnace; adding blankets, shovel, ice scraper, windshield fluid and a bag of sand or cat litter to your car; having tires with sufficient tread; filling gas tank; and monitoring weather reports.
