PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- The city of Providence is accepting nominations for the next inductees into the Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame.
The office of Mayor Angel Taveras says nominees should be local residents who have made meaningful contributions to acceptance, social justice, civil rights and equality in Providence.
Letters of nomination no more than two pages long will be accepted until Jan. 28.
Those who do not live in Providence but have significant accomplishments in the city will also be considered.
The 10th annual Hall of Fame awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 6 at City Hall.
