PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Two mob associates who pleaded guilty to charges stemming from last year's sweeping investigation into strip clubs paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in protection payments to the New England mob have been shipped to prisons outside of Rhode Island.

In recent days, Richard Bonafiglia, 58, and Albino "Albie" Folcarelli, 54, have been transferred from the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls to federal prisons in Maryland and Massachusetts.

Bonafiglia is serving his sentence in the medium security prison in Cumberland, Maryland, about 130 miles from Washington, D.C. Folcarelli was moved to the medical center at the federal prison at Fort Devens in Ayer, Mass., about 39 miles west of Boston.

Both men were sentenced to seven years in prison.
