RICHMOND, R.I. -- State Police arrested a South Attleboro man Saturday evening who tested four times the legal limit after being stopped on Route 3 in Richmond.
Thomas J. Eaton, 43, of 25 Hampson St., South Attleboro, was charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
It is Eaton's third driving under the influence charge. He was arrested by Westerly in 2005 and 2008.
The news release says an off-duty Connecticut trooper called the Hope Valley barracks about a possible intoxicated driver on Route 3.
Described as "highly-impaired," the preliminary breath test showed Eaton's blood-alcohol level was 0.362. A second test produced a 0.356 result. The legal limit is 0.08.
Eaton was arraigned and transported to the state Adult Correction Institutions.
