PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- United Natural Foods Inc., of Providence, said Monday morning that the Teamsters local in Auburn, Wash., rejected the company's latest contract offer.
Members of Teamsters Local 117 walked off the job in mid-December in a contract dispute. The two sides began a federal mediation process last week, which has yet to produce a resolution.
In a statement released Monday, UNFI said, "We regret the union's timing of this strike, and that it continues, particularly because of the impact this strike has had on our associates and their families in Auburn."
The strike has not impacted UNFI's operations in Providence.
