PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The state attorney general's office says the investigation into an alleged underage drinking party hosted by Governor Chafee's son remains "under review."
The Memorial Day weekend party hosted by 18-year-old Caleb Chafee at the family's Wee Hoose Farm in Exeter attracted the attention of the state police after an 18-year-old woman was hospitalized with suspected alcohol poisoning.According to a police report obtained by WPRO, one attendee said that Caleb Chafee ordered them to leave when the young woman became sick-- and not to call 911 until they were off the property.
The state police, who've refused to release the report, delivered the investigative package to the attorney general's office on June 18. Spokeswoman Amy Kempe said the case has been assigned to a prosecutor, but it was unknown when the review would be completed.
