WARWICK, R.I. -- Game day just got a little easier for area Patriots fans who regularly make the pilgrimage to Gillette Stadium for home games.
The MBTA -- which for years has been running special game-day service from Providence to the stadium in Foxboro, Mass. -- has agreed to add the Warwick train station to the route, giving fans another place to climb aboard.
Stephen Devine, chief of intermodal planning for the state Department of Transportation, said the state has been working with the MBTA for months to get the extended Patriots route and learned this week that it is a go.
