PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- A man considered a "family friend" is accused by the Pawtucket police of molesting a girl for several years.
John Beaulieu, 38, of 12 Lewis St., was arraigned at District Court on Thursday on six counts of second-degree child molestation. The girl, now 15, said that Beaulieu had been molesting her since she was 11, said Maj. Arthur Martins.
The police began investigating on Aug. 21, Martins said.
The girl told police that Beaulieu had touched her and taken topless photos of her during visits to his apartment, according to an arrest warrant. Beaulieu also contacted her on Facebook and in text messages for sexually explicit photos, the warrant said.
Beaulieu is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions on surety bail.
