PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A few reminders for a snowy morning in Providence, courtesy of Mayor Taveras:

The citywide parking ban is in effect until 9 a.m. Cars parked on the street or in school parking lots will be ticketed and towed.

Tuesday trash removal will proceed as normal.

It's the property owner's responsibility to clear snow from sidewalks, catch basins, fire hydrants and pedestrian ramps, within 8 hours after snow stops falling. Everyone is asked to take care not to push snow into cleared roadways, sidewalks or fire hydrants. Fines ranging from $20 to $500 will be imposed for non-compliance.

Motorists are advised not to double park on streets, and to leave at least eight feet around fire hydrants.
