PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- An attorney for the Rhode Island economic development agency that is suing Curt Schilling over the state's investment in his failed video game company hopes the case will go to trial within a year.

Max Wistow said he hopes it will move "as expeditiously as possible."

The Economic Development Corp. in November sued Schilling and some of its own former officials, saying they misled the agency's board into approving a $75 million loan guarantee for 38 Studios. The company filed for bankruptcy in June.

The parties' lawyers were in court Friday for the first time. Superior Court Judge Michael Silverstein said defendants who want to have the case dismissed must file motions by March 1.

Wistow said a trial date may be discussed at a Feb. 11 conference with Silverstein.
