PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Achievement First, which will open its first charter school in Rhode Island this summer, has received more than 325 applications from parents in Providence, Cranston, Warwick and North Providence families.
Four weeks remain until the student recruitment deadline of February 22, 2013.
"We are excited about this early and extraordinary demand and look forward to continuing our outreach campaign in February with street teams in our communities," said Ben Smith, founding director of school operations for Achievement First Providence Mayoral Academy.
Achievement First Providence Mayoral Academy will open with 188 students in kindergarten and first grade. It is first non-local charter school to open in Rhode Island.
