PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Jorge Daniel Estrada of Providence and Angel Feliz of Dorchester, Mass., pleaded guilty Monday to drug trafficking charges in what U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha called the largest seizure of pure heroin from the streets of Rhode Island - 19 pounds.
The pair face up to life in prison and fines of up to $1 million.
Estrada admitted possessing heroin with the intention to distribute it.
Feliz admitted attempting to possess heroin with the intent to distribute it
Neronha said an informer's information led to the seizure of two pounds of the drug in October, 2012. The next day, agents confiscated 17 pounds from Estrada's apartment.
The defendants are to be sentenced by Chief Judge Mary M. Lisi in April and May.
