PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Global thinker Jack Dorsey spent Friday afternoon in Providence talking to the RISD community about the intersection of art and technology.
Dorsey, the cofounder of the micro-blogging site Twitter and the payment processing system Square, said he never set out to be a multimillionaire technology corporate titan.
"All these things were in service to me bringing these things to the world," said the soft-spoken technologist. "[Money] is not really what drives me at all."
He sees "a natural intersection between art and entrepreneurship" and welcomed the invitation to speak at RISD, he said, because "this is absolutely the college I should have gone to."
