WEST WARWICK, R.I. -- A driver stopped on Main Street for speeding and having an expired inspection sticker in the first 25 minutes of Friday was charged with driving under the influence, blood alcohol 0.15 or greater, a news release from the Rhode Island State Police said Friday.
Douglas Pion, 37, of 45 Vine Street, West Warwick, pleaded not guilty in District Court, Warwick, on Friday and was released on his own recognizance pending a Feb.18 pretrial conference.
His blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.291 percent on the first reading and 0.274 on the second reading, Sgt. James Pardington reported. A blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent is considered too drunk to drive.
