RICHMOND, R.I. -- Two men were arrested Thursday and charged with stealing a large section of copper ground wire from a utility pole on Hillsdale Road, Richmond Police Chief Elwood M. Johnson Jr. said in a news release Tuesday.
Dorian Larosa, 19, of 1030 Ives Rd., East Greenwich, and James Skirvin, 38, of 54 Kingstown Road, Richmond, were both charged with larceny and vandalism.
From the description, Cpl. William Litterio recognized the car as one he had seen on Glen Rock Road. Patrolman Justin Vachon followed the car from Glen Rock Road to Mail Road in Exeter, where Rhode Island State Police have jurisdiction. With copper wire in plain view, state police officers charged the men with misdemeanor receiving stolen goods and conspiracy.
