BARRINGTON, R.I. -- Those who need shelter in Barrington can make their way to the public safety building at 100 Federal Rd., Public Works Director Alan Corvi said just before noon on Saturday.

Corvi reported that the town manager hoped to have the shelter at Primrose Hill School open by 2 p.m.

Town plows are having trouble clearing the roads, Corvi said, because so many people are out sightseeing, snowshoeing and skiing.

Electricity is out in 100 percent of Barrington, Bristol, and Warren, Corvi said from a cell phone that he said was getting only sporadic service.
