PROVIDENCE -- A Superior Court jury Tuesday acquitted a city woman of slicing a foe's face from her hairline to chest with a weapon believed to be an eyebrow shaper.

A jury found Reanel Cassell not guilty of felony assault in the 2008 slashing of Tania Ferrell.

Ferrell and two friends headed to find Cassell at her friend Dennissa "Mookie" and boyfriend Leron Porter's Camp Street house. One friend threw a shoe at Cassell and a fight broke out during which Ferrell's face was sliced between her eyes to her chest.

Ferrell told jurors Cassell wielded the weapon, but Cassell's lawyer Judith Crowell said it was "Mookie." "Mookie" is in prison for ganging up with family members in a fatal fight. Leron is awaiting trial for murder. Cassell served 90 days.
