President Obama's State of the Union speech got a strong thumbs-up Tuesday night from members of the state's congressional delegation, all Democrats.
U.S. Rep David N. Cicilline said he was pleased by the president's emphasis on jobs, which he calls the number-one issue.
U.S. Sen Sheldon Whitehouse, along with Rep. James Langevin, praised the president's for using the speech to announce an executive order to enhance the nation's cybersecurity and pledged to work together to see that public-private partnerships are developed to respond to threats.
U.S. Sen. Jack Reed pointed to the president's push for "investing" in skills for people and in infrastructure. "If we can do that we'll be able to unleash a huge amount of private capital that is sitting on the sidelines."
