PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The state is looking to hire unemployed Rhode Islanders to help clean up state beaches and parks that were affected by superstorm Sandy, Governor Chafee announced Friday.
The Department of Labor and the R.I. Temps placement agency in Warwick are recruiting workers who have been unemployed 15 weeks or more. Preference is given to veterans and to people who were put out of work as a result of Sandy.
