PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Rhode Island has increased 5 cents over the past week, says AAA Southern New England.
The average price in the Ocean State is $3.799 at self-service pumps, according to AAA's weekly survey.
That's 28 cents higher than the price here a month ago and 6 cents above the national average of 3.739, AAA says.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was $3.689.
AAA's survey found a 26-cent price range, from a low of $3.659 to a high of $3.919. As usual, AAA advises drivers to shop around for the best price.
