PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- In another sign she is strongly leaning towards a run for governor, state General Treasurer Gina Raimondo has hired a seasoned gubernatorial campaign operative as her new chief of staff, her office confirmed Wednesday.
Andrew Roos was campaign manager for Democrat Myrth York's unsuccessful bid for Rhode Island governor in 2002 and managed the 2008 campaign of current Delaware Governor Jack Markell.
A graduate of Brown University, Roos most recently worked in Google's Washington, D.C. office.
He starts March 4, and replaces Joseph P. Pratt, who will become the office's new "deputy treasurer/chief of administration."
She also hired Ashley Gingerella O'Shea as associate director of communications. She had been assistant vice president and public relations manager at Citizens Bank, in Providence.
