WARWICK, R.I. -- Superior Court Judge Bennett R. Gallo sent jurors in the murder trial of Tony Gonzalez home Thursday after the disclosure of previously unknown phone records by prosecutors.

Gallo said he was giving lawyers the night to review records that "may or may not be pertinent" to the case. He planned to resume the trial first thing Friday morning.

Authorities say Gonzalez, 26, of Providence, shot and killed Carl Cunningham Jr. Jan. 22, 2012, in a jealous rage because his ex-girlfriend was dating Cunningham's friend.

Prosecutors say his friend, Matthew Chivers, was the intended target, but that Gonzalez shot the wrong man.

Prosecutors had been expected to conclude their case Thursday.
