WARWICK, R.I. -- The number of passengers using T.F. Green Airport in January dropped 2 percent compared to January 2012, according to figures from the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, the state agency that runs the airport.

In January this year, 251,791 passengers passed through Green, compared to 257,480 last year.

Looking ahead, Peter A. Frazier, interim president and chief executive of the Airport Corporation cautioned that February's numbers will face two challenges when measuring up to February 2012.

One, last February was a Leap Month, with 29 days.

Two, the airport lost two days of air travel to a blizzard this year.

Those three fewer days already put February 2013 in a 10 percent hole.

See monthly reports on passenger numbers at the airport's website.
