WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- Woonsocket police have arrested two men they say are responsible for stealing hand railings from the St. Charles Church last week.

Woonsocket Police Detective Thomas Gormley arrested Timothy Ring, 36, of 157 Fairfield Ave., and Robert Ceraolo, 55, of 340 Robinson St., both of Woonsocket, on Friday, in the theft of the brass railings from the church, at 190 North Main St., according to the police.

The railings were reported stolen Feb. 16 by the Rev. Gerald Finnegan.

Their estimated value is $10,000.

Ring and Ceraolo are each being charged with one count larceny over $1,500 and conspiracy. The railings were scrapped at L&R Scrap Metal at 631 River St. and cannot be recovered.

The police arrested the men after receiving an anonymous tip.
