PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Miguel Davis, 24, was found guilty Friday of the murder of Dominique Gay and firearms charges by a jury that deliberated two days after a 12-day trial in Superior Court, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin said Friday in a news release.
During a trial before Judge Robert D. Krause, the state said that Davis shot Gay near Porter and Broad streets on March 20, 2009. The two were romantically linked to the same woman.
Davis has been held without bail since his arrest on Aug. 29. His last known address was 224 River Ave.
The police and prosecutors linked the firearm to a stolen gun from Johnston that belonged to the grandfather of a woman with whom Davis was romantically involved.
