PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - An autopsy has found no sign of trauma that could explain how a 48-year-old Rhode Island man died after police forcefully removed him from a vehicle.

Providence police say the incident occurred Sunday afternoon after 48-year-old Noel Charriez of Providence refused to exit a car that was not his on Chapman Avenue. The man was yelling and saying that he heard voices.

Officers removed the man from the car and placed him in handcuffs, at which point he began vomiting. The restraints were removed and the man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy performed Monday found no evidence of trauma related to the death. Toxicology results are pending.

The incident remains under investigation.
