PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Lawyers for the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation say there are enough active members of the board of directors to meet a quorum at its Monday meeting.
After recent resignations, nine directors now count as "holding office," thus five -- a majority -- must attend the meeting, said EDC legal counsel Thomas E. Carlotto, of Shechtman Halperin Savage LLP.
In addition to Governor Chafee, the board chairman, directors still holding office are vice chairman Jerauld C. Adams, David M. Dooley, George H. Nee, Stanley Weiss, Cheryl Watkins Snead, Jack K. Templin, Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. and Karl Wadensten, Carlotto said.
Although Snead and Templin have submitted letters of resignation, Snead agreed to serve through March and Templin through April, thus they're still counted, Carlotto said.
