WARWICK, R.I. -- The Warwick police have turned over to the School Department an investigation into a student's account of having sex with a teacher, according to a police report.
The report states that no crime was committed because the Warwick Veterans High School student told them it was consensual sex and she is 16, the age of consent in Rhode Island.
In the police report, the student said she had sex with one of her teachers after school late in January. She said the encounter occurred when they went for a drive to Jamestown.
Warwick Supt. Richard D'Agostino said he "could not confirm or deny anything." Warwick School Committee Chairwoman Bethany Furtado also declined comment.
