Concert Thursday to benefit children of Providence murder victim Shemeeka Barros

By Sheila Lennon Thursday night there's to be a Memorial Benefit Show for Shemeeka Paulette Barros, a 22-year-old mother of two who was killed in a triple homicide at her apartment in the north end on July 30. Her boyfriend and a friend were also murdered. Two youths have been charged.

The benefit runs from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. at The Spot Underground, 15 Elbow St. (map), Providence, (401) 383-7133. Hosted by Rudy Cabrera with 95.5's DJ Spin, the show's scheduled performers include Erik Andrade, James Monterio, Fa Raw, Mix Magic Exult Choir, Jessica 9-Names, Patricia Martin-Rossi (Aunty Pat), The Spot Band, Boo City, Flizz, Reziztanze, Nychee, Emerald Stone, Amirah Barros, Muffin, Chachi, Blanktrace and Bigg Roo.

Suggested donation is $10. Proceeds are to go to her children and siblings.
