PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A clerical error is forcing a do-over of this week's Economic Development Corp. board meeting.
Rhode Island's economic development agency says it will have the board re-vote on everything it took up at Monday's meeting after the wrong meeting date was posted on the Secretary of State's website.
The agency said in a statement it decided the "most prudent course," to comply with open meetings laws, was to issue a new public notice of the meeting and have the board vote again on all matters that came before it. It called the error inadvertent.
Among the actions the board took Monday was approving an agreement to help the Port of Providence purchase two barge-based cranes.
A date for the "supplemental" meeting is being scheduled.
