WESTERLY, R.I. -- A person walking on the beach at Napatree Point Tuesday afternoon discovered the body of a man who had apparently shot himself in the head, Westerly police said Tuesday in a news release.
The identity of the man, 57, and from Connecticut, is being withheld while family is notified.
Police said the beach walker found the body at 1:13 p.m. several hundred yards east of the beach cabanas. The person's car was parked in the Watch Hill lot.
Detectives are investigating.
